Cyanotype Workshop, Farm Tour & Market
Cyanotype Workshop, Farm Tour & Market
The art of cyanotyping creates stunning images on paper and fabric using sunshine! We will prepare our materials in the barn before heading out on a farm and forest walk to honorably harvest nature beings of inspiration. We will also identify various ferns, trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. Back at the barn we will create our designs before exposing them to sunlight. You will take home a beautiful work of heart! There is no experience necessary and all materials will be provided for you. You will have a choice of creating on a canvas bag, a 11x15 premium water color paper fit for framing, or a large cotton square that can be used as a bandanna, wall hanging, etc. If you wish to instead bring your own item to cyanotype(t-shirt, small light-colored denim garment, etc), you are welcome to. Please be sure that it is a natural fiber (cotton, linen, silk, wool) that has been washed and dried, and that you can wring it out by hand. This workshop is open to participants 12 and up. We ask that minors be accompanied by an adult. $50 investment includes all materials, instruction, tea made from harvested herbs grown on the land, and a guided nature walk/farm tour. We will also have our farm market open for purchases - herbs, hay, firewood, and whatever else the gardens are offering!
